Overview
SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC) was established in April 2008 with the primary purpose of developing and managing the hotel and convention properties of SM Prime, one of the largest integrated property developers in Southeast Asia. SMHCC is guided by its mission to be the leading hotel and convention company in the Philippines and its vision to build and operate hotels and convention centers that take pride in Filipino warmth and hospitality.
SMHCC’s encouraging growth has propelled the company’s goal to double its portfolio throughout the country within the next five years. It is geared towards becoming a brand powerhouse that ultimately seeks to create an indelible mark in the country’s tourism industry.
Currently, the SMHCC portfolio is comprised of ten (10) hotel properties with a combined inventory of 2,601 rooms. The list of hotels under SMHCC include Taal Vista Hotel, Pico Sands Hotel, Conrad Manila, Lanson Place Mall of Asia, Radisson Blu Cebu, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, Park Inn by Radisson Clark, Park Inn by Radisson Davao, Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo, and Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA. Alongside SMHCC’s hotel properties are its convention centers. The SMX Convention Centers (SMXCC) and trade halls boast close to 38,000 square meters of total leasable space with its eight (8) exhibition and convention venues in key cities across the country.

Milestones
2003
In 1999, to meet the growing need for hotel rooms in Tagaytay, Taal Vista Lodge underwent an extensive upgrade and expansion. It reopened in March of 2003 as Taal Vista Hotel, with a new wing to accommodate more conference facilities and amenities for business and leisure activities.
2007
SMX Manila, the first standalone property under SMX Convention Center (SMXCC), opened in 2007. Propelled by the growing number of local and foreign attendees of MICE events in the country, SMX Manila has carved a name for itself with its proximity and its one-stop shop service.
The flagship property of SMXCC remains the strongest industry player providing quality service to its long list of clientele.
2008
SM Hotels and Conventions Corp., then known as SM Hotels and Entertainment Corporation, was established under SM Investments Corporation (SMIC). SMHCC was instituted with the primary purpose of developing and managing the hotel and convention properties of SMIC.
2010
The 400-room Radisson Blu Cebu was inaugurated in 2010, strategically located beside SM City Cebu and adjacent to the International Port Area. The hotel provides five-star accommodations with sweeping views of the channel and the city as well as proximity to cultural attractions and beautiful white-sand beaches.
2011
Formally opened in 2011, Pico Sands Hotel is a 154-room hotel located within Pico de Loro Cove, the maiden community of Hamilo Coast and the premier seaside development of the SM Group in Nasugbu, Batangas. The spacious rooms are equipped with modern amenities and captivating views of lush mountains and the tranquil lagoon.
2012
Located on the third level of the SM Lanang Premier, SMX Davao opened in 2012. It boasts a three fully-carpeted function rooms and five meeting rooms that, combined, can accommodate more than 5,000 people.
2013
SM Land, Inc. merged with SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SMPHI), thus taking in SMHCC under the helm and umbrella of SMPHI.
2013
Park Inn by Radisson Davao was also opened this year. Contemporary rooms and suites offer beautiful landscape views of the islands and highlands in Davao City, and the hotel’s “Adding Color to Life” service philosophy ensures a fun, comfortable, and uncomplicated stay.
2013
Additionally, SMX Aura was launched, the third property under the SMX Convention Center brand. Its gross total of 3,137 square meters of leasable space can easily accommodate over 2,000 guests.
2014
SMX Bacolod was launched and became the leader in the Negros Island Region’s local and foreign MICE events as well as corporate and social functions. SMX Bacolod was the answer to venue concerns of local professional event organizers, spanning a gross floor area of 8,218 square meters on the third floor of the SM City Bacolod.
2015
Park Inn by Radisson Clark was opened, adding to the vibrant tourism landscape of Pampanga and setting a new benchmark in hospitality. It appeals to both domestic and international travelers, guaranteeing a stay that is fresh and uncomplicated.
The property is a 154-room hotel that enjoys a prime location, next to SM City Clark, a premier destination mall outside of Metro Manila. The hotel is centrally located in the city near tourist attractions, museums and historical landmarks.
2016
Conrad Manila opened in 2016, finding a new home by the bay with its tagline, “Never just stay. Stay inspired.” The hotel sits atop the S Maison retail complex with a direct link to SMX Convention Center Manila. The building’s architecture is inspired by views of the bay and the Makati city skyline.
2016
In October of the same year, the newest addition to the SMXCC properties, Sky Hall Seaside Cebu, was formally launched. It is set to become the scene for social and corporate events in the bustling city of Cebu. The outdoor Sky Garden, provides a refreshing view of the mountains, a perfect backdrop for wedding receptions, debuts and cocktail parties.
2018
The Megatrade Hall has been a true pioneer in the Philippine MICE industry for more than two decades and counting. Megatrade Hall, which has been around since 1992, underwent a renovation in 2018 to better serve its clients and guests.
2019
Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo and Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA were opened in the same year.
A 200-room property, Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo was built adjacent to SM City Iloilo in the Mandurriao district, which has been dubbed as the new business district in the regional capital of Western Visayas.
2019
On the other hand, Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA is a 238-room hotel strategically linked to SM City North EDSA and is also within short driving distance to Quezon City’s prime business and entertainment districts.
2020
SMX Convention Center opens its first managed venue in the north, Olongapo City Convention Center. The 2,130 square meters of leasable space is located on the 4th level of the new SM City Olongapo Central in Olongapo City. It can hold a total of 2,400 guests on a regular setting and up to 1,900 guests with the new normal.
The new venue will provide its brand and quality of service to local professional event organizers, associations, corporate and government sectors and will address the demand for facilities that would cater to the meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (M.I.C.E) market.
2021
Park Inn by Radisson Clark opened its all-new South Wing in June of 2021, adding more accommodation options for domestic and international guests in an up-and-coming destination.
Housed within the newly-constructed South Wing are 95 Superior Rooms, all of which feature modern amenities and in-room technology such as IPTVs. Five additional Suites will also offer Nespresso machines and separate living areas.
The opening of Park Inn by Radisson Clark’s South Wing is a manifestation of SMHCC’s optimistic outlook and confidence in the hospitality industry amidst a global pandemic.
2021
Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod opened in July 2021 as the first international hotel brand in Bacolod City.
The new family-friendly hotel is located within the SM City Bacolod lifestyle mall, featuring modern amenities, facilities, 3 food outlets, their grab-and-go concept Dash, and 150 modern rooms, including Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms and Junior Suites.
SMHCC aims to further strengthen its foothold to provide more accommodation options in the “City of Smiles” and create an indelible mark in the city’s tourism sector.
2022
SMX Convention Center Clark officially opened on May 24, 2022, further strengthening SMHCC’s brand presence across the Philippines.
SMX Convention Center Clark is dubbed as the second stand-alone convention center after SMX Manila. It boasts of a gross leasable space of more than 4,000 sq. m., comprising of two (2) level event venues and a mezzanine floor for offices.
Conveniently located adjacent to Park Inn by Radisson Clark and the flourishing SM City Clark development, this new MICE icon is ready to take on events and celebrations with its three (3) trade halls, three (3) function rooms, and 14 smaller meeting rooms.
2024
Lanson Place Mall of Asia, Manila, officially opened on April 24, 2024, marking a significant milestone for SMHCC as it introduces a serviced apartment component to its growing portfolio in the country.
An oasis within the exhilarating energy of Pasay City, Lanson Place Mall of Asia offers a tranquil retreat for urban dwellers seeking both vitality and comfort. Comprising 247 hotel rooms and 142 serviced apartments, it offers a diverse array of accommodations to cater to every guest’s needs.

Given the current situation we are all in, we fully understand your heightened concern on hygiene as this is likewise foremost in all our initiatives. In response to this unprecedented situation, measures are underway at our Hotel to ensure your safety and comfort on your next visit.
Health and Safety Guidelines
Guided by the health care expertise of WHO and the Philippine Department of Health, our new health and safety program, SustainablySafe, provides clear procedures that guide our employees to take care of the guests and each other. On top of the best practices we have continuously performed, additional proactive and precautionary actions crucial to the safety and security of each guest and staff have been implemented. These points, along with prospective innovations and applications in operations, encompass and comprise the goals of the SustainablySafe initiative, the ultimate goal of which is to provide guests with the utmost safety and quality of experience.
As we welcome you back to our hotel, we have taken a series of precautionary measures including:
- All guests are required to wear face masks prior to entry into the hotel or car service. If the guest does not have one, it will be provided for him / her;
- Cars are disinfected before and after each use;
Disinfectant floor mats are located at the entrance of the hotel to sanitize footwear; - Guests are subjected to temperature reading and hand sanitation at the entrance;
- Reception desk are disinfected before attending to each guest;
- Guests are to fill-in a health and travel history form upon check-in;
- Room keys and credit cards are sanitized prior to handing them to the guests.
All guestrooms will include a basic safety kit consisting of facial mask, hand sanitizers and wipes; - All public areas will have hand sanitizing stations at strategic locations for guests to use;
- Guestrooms are thoroughly disinfected and sanitized before each guest occupancy using clinical grade disinfectant and UV sterilizing equipment;
- Regular disinfection and deep cleaning of high traffic areas (like lobbies, facilities, function rooms, toilets and food outlets) and frequently touched areas (like handles and handrails, elevator panes, remote controls, light switches, and toilet fixtures);
- Laundry is cleaned by DOH-accredited providers, where linen is processed at 83°C to kill microbial life that causes disease or the fermentation of bacteria;
- Conducting 24-hour continuous fresh air intake in all guest rooms and corridors to ensure the best possible air ventilation to deter contamination and transmission;
- Guestroom flatware and glassware are sanitized through dishwashing machines as opposed to the typical practice using sinks to avoid contact and ensure complete cleanliness;
- Social distancing will be strictly enforced in all restaurants and public areas;
- Firm execution of social distancing amongst staff, who will also assist, enable, and ensure that guests are able to practice social distancing in all areas of the property;
- Staff wears masks, gloves, face shields, and other PPEs at all times when on-duty;
